Queenslanders are losing their rentals, their homes, couch surfing, or sleeping out on the streets, in a car or cardboard box.
Thousands of Queenslanders, including children, are sleeping rough for the first time ever.
Unfortunately, homelessness has become a terrifying reality for Queenslanders today.
We’re urging corporate Queensland to come together to lead with empathy and help break the cycle of homelessness in our state.
One night of your life will be life-changing for so many.
Living on the Gold Coast should be paradise, but for many Queenslanders it’s the opposite. The economic downturn over the last 12 months has seen many people – including young children – sleeping rough for the first time ever. Women over the age of 50 are the fastest growing victims of homelessness, nearly always through no fault of their own.
Many students from university and TAFE have gained work experience in GANDEN offices. Many have gone on to have very successful careers at GANDEN. For instance, Aaron Bull was initally an undergraduate seeking work experience in 2015. He currently is GANDEN’s North Queensland Manager in Cairns.
GANDEN was recognised by the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards by receiving the monthly Student Employability Award in September 2019.
GANDEN employees are encouraged to regularly donate whole blood, plasma or platelets at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.
GANDEN allows staff to donate during work hours without having to take personal leave.
GANDEN has a policy to promote supplier diversity, providing equal opportunity to provide goods and services from companies who assist those in greater need of support.
For example, GANDEN has, for many years, procured spinal injury cover for all its employees and their immediate family members through not-for-profit organisation PBF.
PBF provides support to those with permanent spinal injuries and promotes spinal injury prevention awareness.
