Awonga Point MBR Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade
The 6,000EP Awonga Point membrane bioreactor plant in Weipa, Queensland required a major nutrient removal upgrade to meet new license conditions, including: –
- 1 mg/L Ammonia
- 5 mg/L Total Nitrogen
- 1 mg/L Total Phosphorus
- 100 CFU/100mL Thermotolerant Coliforms
GANDEN teamed with local contractor, Goodline to design, construct and commission the upgraded plant.
GANDEN’s Darron Nutt and Richard Needs, were the original plant designers for the 2009 project. GANDEN subsequently won the tender to Design and Commission for the 2015 upgrade.
